ACT FOR BIODIVERSITY
a family-endowed foundation promoting biodiversity and nature conservation
A FOUNDATION DEDICATED TO NATURE
Terrahui is a family-endowed foundation whose purpose is to contribute, directly and indirectly, to the protection of nature and the environment, to the preservation and restoration of biodiversity, and more specifically to support the protection of animal, plant and mineral resources.
ACTING FOR BIODIVERSITY
The mission of the Terrahui foundation is driven by the evidence that our planet's resources are being eroded and that its natural ecosystems and biodiversity are becoming increasingly fragile as a result of intensive human exploitation and global warming. It's time to act now to halt the loss of biodiversity and restore it by 2030.
OUR INITIATIVES AND THE PROJECTS WE SUPPORT
The Terrahui foundation financially supports biodiversity initiatives and actions "aimed at protecting, sustainably managing, and restoring natural and modified ecosystems, that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits”.

FAMILY PHILANTHROPY
Created in 2022, the Terrahui foundation is managed and administered by Xavier and Laure Lorphelin, and their three children, Arthur, Margot and Pénélope.
INSPIRED BY THE POLYNESIAN RĀHUI
The name of our foundation is inspired by the Polynesian rāhui, an ancestral model practiced in Polynesia for the sustainable management, preservation and equitable sharing of natural resources. It involved temporarily banning access to an area, or prohibiting the harvesting of a natural resource, to encourage their regeneration for the benefit of an entire community.
